§ The lay of the land

A real disc golf town, if you beat the heat

Charlotte is the best disc golf city in the South, period. Hornets Nest is the famous one — open front nine, wooded Piedmont back nine, and a tournament history that includes the national championship. Nevin Park's Nightmare layout is the long, brutal sibling, and Kilborne, Reedy Creek, and The Scrapyard round out a top tier most metros would kill for.

All five of our published courses are free, and the variety is the point: open parkland, dense Piedmont woods, water carries, and one 1,001-foot par 5 (well, that one's across the border in Kentucky).

New here? Start at Kilborne, then face the Nightmare once you're feeling bold.
