About this course

The Scrapyard is Matthews' very wooded, very technical answer to Charlotte's bigger-name courses — 18 holes at par 58 with two serious water carries and fairways so tight they feel scrapped together from whatever the woods left behind. The name comes from the scrap-metal fundraising that built it.

Free to play with concrete tees and DISCatcher baskets on moderately hilly ground, it's the course where accuracy is non-negotiable. The water carries make the difference between a good round and a great one.

It's younger than the Charlotte classics but already one of the most respected tests in the region.

§ The signature hole
Hole 7Par 5 · 670 ft

Hole 7 is The Scrapyard's centerpiece: 670 feet of par 5 that winds through the tightest woods on the course. Three committed shots, no shortcuts, and a green that the timber defends from every angle. It's the hole that earned the course its reputation — and the one that decides who walks away with a round to brag about.
