This is the list we built the whole directory for: the best disc golf courses in the US — the 20 highest-rated courses across our directory, ranked by player rating from verified reviews (not one writer’s opinion) and organized by region.

One note on how we got here: this list now includes the national legends — Maple Hill, Smugglers’ Notch, DeLaveaga — alongside the best of our 15 city metros. We’ll keep adding courses as coverage expands, but the top of this list is already where it should be.

How We Ranked These Courses

Every course is ranked by UDisc player rating (the community’s aggregate score), with review count as the tiebreaker. A 4.9 with 12,000 reviews outranks a 4.9 with 4,000 — more reviews means the score has held up over time. No pay-to-play influence, no sponsorships, just the numbers. Ratings and review counts come from UDisc’s public course data, cross-checked against PDGA listings.

• Memorable design — a signature hole, a view, or a risk-reward decision you remember after the round.
• Conditioning — well-maintained tees, baskets, and fairways, so the course plays as designed every time.
• Fair challenge — hard without being unfair, so a good shot is rewarded and a bad one is punished but never feels random.
• A sense of place — Maple Hill’s New England woods, DeLaveaga’s coastal pines, Beaver Ranch’s Rockies. The setting is part of the score.

That’s the honest reason a 4.8 beats a 4.6: thousands of players walked off the course thinking “I want to play that again.”
