About this course
Mary Moore Searight is Austin's crown jewel of wooded disc golf. Eighteen holes carved through dense cedar and oak corridor, where every shot demands a disciplined line and the slightest miss kicks into unforgiving rough. The two par 4s — 543 feet on hole 3 and 471 on hole 12 — are where the course stretches its legs; the rest is a relentless test of accuracy over distance.
The course is a public park, free to play with concrete tees and DISCatcher baskets, and the creek comes into play on the low-lying holes after rain. It's maintained and loved by the local scene, and first-timers should bring a midrange they trust and leave the distance driver in the bag.
After rain, the low-lying fairways turn into a creek-side adventure. Wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy and carry extra plastic.
Hole 3 is the longest at Mary Moore at 543 feet — a par 4 that demands two precise shots through the dense cedar corridor. From the tee you're threading a gap; from the landing zone you're finding a pin tucked behind the rough. It's the hole that sets the tone for the whole round: distance is never the problem here, accuracy is.
